Conflict Management & Mediation Experience

  • Mr. Whitney has devoted time to conflict management coaching, training, and mediation dedicated to helping groups foster accountability, collaboration, and trust.
  • He has been involved with consulting, training, and speaking at multiple institutions, including: The Ohio State University, the National Cancer Institute, the Limited, and the World Bank.
  • He has taught and continues to teach MBA courses on communication, negotiation and business law at Otterbein University. He has also taught in the Master Program in Conflict Resolution at Antioch University-McGregor.
  • Additionally, he has designed and taught courses in Negotiation & Communication, Business Law, and Performance Appraisal & Compensation.
  • Beyond academics, he has trained different organizations on various topics including: Negotiation & Communication, Business Law, Performance Appraisal & Compensation, Family Conflict Management, How to Say “No,” and Conflict Management for Leaders.
  • Coaching leaders on conflict management and communication skills to help individuals and organizations develop cultures of collaboration that foster innovation and excellence.
  • Participating frequently in advanced mediation training programs, including, specialized family/divorce mediation training approved by the Ohio Supreme Court.
  • Being on approved mediator lists, including the Ohio Supreme Court list for foreclosure mediation.
  • Winning numerous awards for his work in dispute resolution and interpersonal communication.
  • Serving as Business Editor of the Ohio State Journal on Dispute Resolution at The Ohio State University College of Law.
  • Receiving awards for his papers on alternative dispute resolution.
  • Serving as a mediation competition judge for The Ohio State University College of Law.
  • Serving as a trainer for Community Mediation Services of Central Ohio.
